A Different VI-2002 Aussie Maxima Ti
Notice variable intake VQ30DE, looks different than MEVI. Also Gauge cluster with gear indicator. I need both items, who's from AU again?

2. That Australian Maxima is the A33 Chassis (2000+ Maxima/I30 in the US/CAN)
3. The intake manifold from the A33 Chassis wont fit underneath our hoods because it is too tall.
4. The gauge cluster...

Question about your number 2.....but the thing is that VI is mated to the VQ30DE engine...shouldn't it fit in our rides??

I like their naming conventions over there. Maxima S. That would be a cool trunk badge, I guess the Acura guys may have a fit
You also notice that they praise the VTEC V6? Maybe without US emissions the VTEC is a better motor. Or maybe it's just that 3.0 liters wasn't really enough to enthusiastically push around that bigger Gen 5 Maxima body, especially when mated to a 4 speed auto.

That just looks like the VQ30DE-K to me.
The VI started in the 4th gen in 1997 over in the middle east, I believe thats the first year they had 4th gens over there. Nissan probably wanted to use that small market as a test bed for the VI, to work out any bugs so that they could fully integrate it into the 2000+ all over the world. It would be prohibitive to have one intake style for 95-96 and then totally change the intake manifold (alot of work to do from the factory) for 97-99, and then build a whole new car in 2000, in a market as large as the US. Not to mention the VI doesn't give much in the way of peak hp #s, which is what sells cars, not actual performance.

210 hp as opposed to the USs 222-227HP? Interesting. Maybe it runs on regular fuel over there. That may also be why they don't like it as much as we do over here.
