Suggestions needed for my problem....
Suggestions needed for my problem....
Sup everyone...Well I need to repair a lot of stuff on my car and I just wanted some input on what I should do and how and what first etc. The last major tune up I had was the 60K tune up, in between then and now i've changed oil every 3k miles, fuel filter and valve cover gaskets, and that is it... I'm at 92k now...This is a list of stuff I need/think i need:
1.Wheel Bearing Right Front-Pretty bad I think(must)
2.Alignment-Pretty bad probably partly caused by wheel bearing...Don't want to kill tires fairly new...
3.Need new brakes and rotors-pretty bad too
4.Need to check for any leaks in brake system
5.Probably want to change brake fluid to new fluid(looks darkish now)
6.Drain and refill coolant-30K is up
7.Find coolant leak-pressure tester from autozone has no adapter small enough to fit maxima rad.
8.Possibly change coolant hoses-just to make sure I have good hoses.
9.Transmission Fluid is getting dirty-I drive my car extremely hard Flush possibly???
10.Oil Change-Oil leak so i use 10w40 hard spot to fix leak- best oil to use but also keeping leak minimal and whats the best filter.
11.I may need to adjust IDLE speed
12.Power steering drain and refill - will it make it any better or keep anything better???
The problem is that I have $200 so far now. I have a lot of the fluids, but parts I still need to work on...I hope to get money soon but it's been hard lately....

2) Yea you can get one, but you're gonna pay about $50 for a one timer.
3) New pads or rotors or calipers or what? How do you know they're bad? They squeelin? As for rotors, are they pulsating when you brake?
4) You can do this for free. Look/smell for brake fluid.
5) Yeah you can do this yourself... get 3 people to make it easy. One person to operate the bleeder valves, one person pumpin the brakes and one person makin sure the master cylinder does not go dry.
6) A few ways to do this- best way is to open the 2 drains on the block and flush that and the radiator. But, when was the last time it was done? The aluminum block does not produce much rust compared to an iron block.
7) Ummm... about where is this coolant leak? I had a power steering leak b4. Come to think of it, the small L rubber hose was leakin antifreeze thats under the battery ground cable on the block.
8) Up to you, but I wouldnt change them unless they physically feel/look bad or are leaking.
9) Yes flush is about $90 but you'll feel a big difference in the way the car shifts.
10) Where is it leaking? Is it the notorious oil pressure sender switch? Its on the lower oil pan to the rear of the car with an electrical connector. If it is, its about $6 to replace.
11) whats wrong with your idle speed? If its idling rough, clean the throttle body first.
12) probbly wont notice anything, but go to www.motorvate.ca to see how to flush the p/s system.
