Springs and shox....can't go wrong eliminating wheel gap! Rims w/ a lotta wheel gap just looks wrong.

You may enjoy the stocker wheels more after dropping it, but if you get the aftermarket wheels first it just might not look right with a lot of wheel gap present. Go for the springs/shocks first.

what's best price + performance shock for max?
Something like around $200 for a set.
BTW, cutting factory spring ok for lowering?
I'm on a tight budget right now.

I did my rims and tires first. Yes, it does look a bit odd with 17" and a lot of wheel gap. The gap actually apears larger with rims and no drop.
If I had to do it all over again. I would have kept my stock wheels put on some high performace tires and lowerd it. After going to the track I realized how much my heavy a$$ rims slowed my down. This also depends on what the stockers look like. If I would have had hubcaps, then no, would not have kept them. I actually miss my stock BBS Touring wheels.
I also should have looked for lighter 17s.

Depends...

I'd go with the drop first since you have an SE and prolly don't have the hubs. You may even like your current rims enough to keep them after the drop and spend your $ elsewhere. maybe?

If you have the hubcaps...I'd definitely go with rims. A lower car on those nasty hubs is just plain oogly.

I would save enough $$$ and do the whole thing all at once. You would get a better deal from the shop if you go in there saying "I want the whole package." THis way you have some bargining power with the shop, and no shop will charge you whole price for doing rims, tires, springs and shocks. They WANT your $$$, it's just a matter of who's going to get it and how much $$ they are going to make off you. I got a great deal on mine in Los Angeles...the guys even gave me the tint and labor for free!
