Buying 97 SE

Ok,

I'm new here but have lurked around this site to do research before deciding to buy a used Maxima. I came across a white 97 SE 5-speed with black leather interior here in Alabama. Looks like a good buy. The driver side front fender was replaced and some work was done on driver side doors due to a minor accident. Used car dealer even showed me pictures of the damage. Carfax and the title shows the car came from New York (Brooklyn). I've noticed a lot of posts from NY and was wondering if anybody knows anything about this car. It has 91K miles and the VIN is JN1CA21D7VT871011.

Thanks

also search around here for altenator recall.. see if that VIN is on the list.. then if it is.. have it changed before you take it

oh you shouldn't be paying more than $9000 for that car

Checked the recall, it didn't apply. I'm paying $8400. The only problem the car has is the ashtray won't open. But I can fix that thanks to info I found on this site.

Who knows what dangers lurk inside the mysterious "ashtray"...

...maybe too much loose change, too many cigarette buds, or the dreaded candy wrappers!

Seriously, sounds like a sweet deal.
