Changed the struts and springs but, I forgot to put on that paper thin washer thing that goes on top of the strut and betweet the body for the rear. What does that do anyway?

My guess is it keeps any possible sqweaks, maybe keeps corrosion from happening, probably nothing real serious, but if you did the install yourself, why not put them back in. It's only a few bolts.

The gaskets, according to Nissan are to stop water from splashing up form the wheel wells into the car. Thats a joke, considering there made of paper and the rears usually shrink up to the point there useless.
Make new ones out of thick header gasket material. They last much longer and also isolate the suspension from the chassis of the car much better. I've found my car rides quieter with this mod.
Here's a few pics of my custom gaskets.

They are supposed to prevent water leakage.
You can get this material from any auto parts store. It's called gasket material, and comes rolled up in a tube like wrapping paper. Just trace and cut. They prevent noise depending on what suspension you have and how well you tightened everything.
