VB Mod woes
So my vb install was done 2 days ago... one problem
Once in a while, when im at a stop, I gas it some and the car doesnt go, like it's sitting in neutral, when it does go it feels like i did a neutral drop...
Spring in the vb is in place, wat else could be the problem?

Edit: I don't think the tranny is actually slipping, this has never happened until the vb mod went in.
I didn't have that same problem when I installed mine but something that I found MAY help. My problem was that it would not shift at all into 3rd after the install. A case of synthetic fluid and 8 hours later, the problem was resolved by uninstalling the VB and changing the two seals that go between the VB and upper tranny case. Mine were cracked and would mess with the fluid flow.
Maybe you have a sticking solenoid? Did you replace the solenoids with new ones? Maybe you have a dirty filter? Does it do it when cold, hot, or always? Have you tried manually shifting and the problem still persists? Have you checked the fluid level?
Just trying to help. Trust me I know how frustrating it is when trying to diagnose a problem with the VB. Let me know.

How would I know if the solenoid is sticking?
It happens quite randomly, but only when i'm at a stop, it shifts through all gears fine, just from a stop to 1st gear, it takes a second. It's happened in the hot and cold. If you've ever felt a neutral drop, thats wat it feels like.

try checking your tranny fluid levels. my car would do that once in a while. before i was geeting scared i ended up checking the tranny fuild and it was low. so i did a tranny flush and put more tranny fluid in and it hasn't happened ever since.

tranny has 69,300 miles on it...
on the magnets there was a nice velvety coating of metal on it.... normal I thought. It COULD be the fluid level, could overfilling it do it? After putting the vb in i filled above the hot mark =/

It may be something slight like too much fluid. Let's hope it is.

It looks like tiny hairs about 3 mm long.......... not very silvery, dark metal =/ damn.
I'm gonna try draining some fluid see if that helps, but it hasnt done it once today while driving.
Also, is there any way for nissan to know that the vb was recalibrated? Or would I need to put my oem one back in?? thanks for the help guys =)

Yes you do need to have the correct fluid level in, so I would definetly start there. No, nissan tech will not be able to tell that your VB is calibrated....until he drives it.
Very fine darker powdery stuff is ok as that is probably normal debris that comes from wear on the bands and clutches after normal use. "Hairs" that stand up enough to see with the naked eye, that are metallic in shape and color is not so good. That is usually shavings from something inside your tranny (either the weak small parts have gave way and ground themselves together or the bearings inside the torque converter have given way and also ground themselves up). Part of the problems that excessive shavings cause is the sticking of solenoids, valves, and just general clogging of filter. All of which will cause the tranny to start running different.
