Two Beauties To Choose From!!!!!

http://images.cardomain.com/installs...220_8_full.jpg

95 SE 5 speed with EVERYTHING except leather

BLACK
stillen lip
stillen intake
dropzone springs
2k2 rims
red/clears
STS
did i mention it was BLACK?!
90000 miles

-----------------------------------------------

http://images.cardomain.com/installs...37_15_full.jpg

97 SE 5 speed with EVERYTHING including BLACK LEATHER

Maroon
STOCK
88000 miles

now here's the scenario, there is a 200 dollar difference between these two cars and that's what is killing me!! both are at a very good price but what would benefit me more??? I want a modded max whether i do it or not but dam, how can i pass out a deal on a 97 for just 200 dollars more and has EVERYTHING, BOSE, black leather, all the goods!!!

the only thing stopping me from dropping this subject and buying the 97 is the color. maroon is ok, i don't hate it but my dream is black and as u can see from the car above, it looks real clean. I'm totally confused on what i should get. I'm still leaning towards the 95 but dam the 97 is such a great deal....

WHAT WOULD YOU GUYS GET?????

mecca

Sorry about your accident, glad you're giving the Maxima another try.

To each their own, but I would choose the car with mods IF I knew it had been taken care of well. The mods cost a lot if you were to put it in yourself BUT if you end up with an abused powertrain, you'll have to spend a lot more $$$ fixing it up. Then again, the stock car could also have been abused. You can never tell from a picture.

I personally would go for the modded car but I'm not a risk taker - I prioritize a well-running car more than whether it's modded or not. Go to the service records and knowing the vehicle history helps.

man, that black one is so HOTTTT!! but to tell you the truth, the value of the one thats 200 dollars is a lot more than the 95 because its 2 years younger and is stock. A modded max value goes down right(Thats what my ahole stepdad told me when i put rims, wings, light, and intake in my car) the 97 has a younger engine and its only 6 years old. Stock is always better, because it was prob driven more lighter than the one that been modded.

thanks for all input guys. Just to let u all know, both parties said they took great care of cars. One quotes he only went to track once. the one owning the black max is 25 so he seems to have left that "i want to race all the time" phase and he's about to get married and everything, not that that means anything....but i think both cars were well taken care of. Both parties say they never had to change anything drastic, no problems what so ever.

Unfortunately, both have firm prices. I wish the 95 would go down a little, even 200 would be nice but i guess i gotta work with what i have. I'm still leaning towards the 95 though...i mean 2,000 mile difference but i feel you guys on the year difference

I'm looking at both pics and I have difficulty deciding which one I like.....and on top of it they are both 5 speeds......

have you tried the heads/tails method with a quarter

good luck

If what you want is black, then get black. If you don't, you'll always be sorry every time you see a black Maxima.

Im sorry but you didnt read my e-mail completely.

And NO you dont have to modd your car and beat on it. I have all service records from day 1. look at the people on this board they are above 30 and race their *** off. Im not defending my car cause I am not really selling it. I OFFERED it just to one person. But since I have 120K miles I guess you will go with the black one now.

My max has 120K miles and its modded.

Im sorry but I heard you never even seen the two maxes so how can you decide???

Is sent you this list.

1997 maxima SE 5spd In NY Area. FULLY LOADED. Wood dash kit from Nissan, leather, spoiler, climate control, 2 heated/power seats, sunroof, bose audio.
120K highway miles.
I’m the 2nd owner and the car was in Mary Land for 107K miles then until 120k it was in NY but traveled to and from school and to parents in upstate NY.

The car was never hit, serviced with Nissan parts and is in great condition. I have carfax available and pictures.

The car has maintenance receipts since day one and where and who the owner was.

The car has new alternator, battery, PCV valve, O2 sensor, evap canister, red line MT90 transmission fluid, new all 4 rotors and brakes and 2 wheel bearings. ALL PARTS ARE FROM NISSAN.

Mods include:

Sprint springs with KYB AGX shocks and all new rubber parts like shock bearings, spring wrap etc.

Pace Setter STS

Cyfiro Chrome gauge rings and Emblem in the rear of car.

Custom 2.5" exhaust with muffler

Place racing CAI

FSTB, AE Headlights, clear corners, red/white rear lights, JDM front spoiler, yellow factory fog lights many more...

The car is in amazing condition and runs like new. Ask people on this board like RBA, nyce maxima, NYC gxe, Chimp DJ, Toylet and they will tell you this car is in awesome conditions.

Re: Re: Two Beauties To Choose From!!!!!

I have a 97 Rosewood SE, I love it, don't see to many around that have any mods because its not really a kids color around my parts. What I do see however is black ones all the time. If you want to be like everyone else get the pre modded black one. If you want to be unique and build your own car get the rosewood and add your own touches to it. To me that is a much better way to go, but then again I try and stay away from main stream.
Either way you go, you got yourself a new Max so that alone should make you plenty happy!!! Good Luck.

NADA trade for the 97 is $9250

Trade for the 95 is $6175...

That would make my mind immediately.

KBB Private party for the 97 is $9570
For the 95 is $6750...

I would say that it depends on what style you like more.. I like the 97 look more. Here is some of the Pro's and cons IMO.

If you are looking to get a stillen kit the 97 is nicer.
The 97 headlights are nicer (clear)
Also the 97 tails you can do the RED/CLEAR very easily..
Color is not that bad.. You can always paint it if it bothers you that much. This guy Freddie on the org has that color and IMO i think his maxima is one of the nicest ones ive seen..
The 97 is newer which means it will most likely last longer depending on who owned it and how they maintained it.

If its just color I would say get it and if you really cant deal with it paint it.

But the 95 is modded up and it is nice. so if you like the 95-96 look better or the same as the 97-99 look and you plan on modding it up anyway then consider the 95. I have a 95 and i am going through the bumper conversions and it is $$ and a pain in the a$$. I just dont like the look of the 95-96 stillen front and rear..

Get the rosewood. I like the black 95 but when you taken into consideration resale value and the cost of adding leather to the 95 if you plan on doing that I say the rosewood is the better choice. Also 97+ Maximas are just plain nicer in my opinion anyway.

Ask yourself a few questions:

1. Do you definitely want a black? Have you own a black car before? My previous car is black and it was so hard to keep clean. It doesn't help at all as I park on the street and live in CA (hot!!!).

2. Do you want those mods? Or you want to get something different? Or do it yourself?

3. Do you definitely want to get leather?

One time a friend told me this, "When your value is set, your choice is clear."

I will go for the '97 one because it is younger (better resale value), plus I like the tail light better.

your going to get many different opinions here, so its really what you want, its your money and your joy of the car. personally i like the rosewood because its different, and they are selling for about the same price yet the rosewood is worth 3k more. go test drive both and make a decision on which one fits you best

Man, Ic ouldn't decide either?
On one hand the the 97 which is two years younger and has leather.
On the other hand the 95 has everything.

The thing is a newer motor vs a older motor
And mods vs stock.

If I had the money to invest in getting all the mods I would get the 97.

If I didn't want to be bothered with that all over again and the car was well taken care of, then I would get the 95.

This is a tough decision. The sensible choice would be to get the 97 obviously, its better in almost all respects.

but then again, you know that

BLACK OWNS YOU

Basically you have to decide if the black color is really worth that much to you.

Let me tell you that black cars look amazing when they are clean, but my car is clean about 5% of the time

Good luck with your choice.

if i knew the owner of the modded 95 and knew the car i would go for that wihtout a doubt, but otherwise get the 97 cuz its def a better deal and it seems like a color that grows on ya

97 = different

You've driven a 95.

So why again a 95? Unless you seriously wanna recruit us 95ers and start a 95 revolution in this very .org?

Paint at Maaco will cost about $200-300. Nice.

Maaco Pinstripe = priceless

dam guys, i'm not getting the recommendations i expected. I always wanted a black or lexus blue maxima

FIRST OFF!!!!

paint does not cost no 300 dollars. To paint my car black i believe should be around 1,000 dollars in itself right?!

both cars are heavily modded guys and i jsut got an update on the maroon max. has 120,000 miles...

so now its color and mileage vs year and leather

both have similar mods

we're talking 30,000 miles less and the color i love

or the year i like the most and about 600 dollars leather.

I'm really leaning towards the black one though. As long as its a 4th gen i'm happy but the color is what really gets me. I don't care about cleaning, as long as it sparkles when its black. If changing color to black was really that cheap (500 dollars or less) i would be more leniant to the maroon but i think a GOOD paintjob will run me 1,000 +

plus the guy with black max says he never abused his car. He never does and his fiance drives it mostly (women can't drive , i'm a little worried hahha)

now that u know a little bit more about the maroon max, what u guys think? i love the maroon car and the ONLY thing stopping me is the color. I know the resale value is awesome but dam, i don't intend on selling my car ever...even the one that got totaled i wanted to keep for life, and i like kits for both cars....dam, such a tough choice...black power hahaha

There you go. I think you already make your decision, and just want more opinions to support it. Go for your feelings.

Besides, 30k miles is a lot.

i like how the black one looks better, but if it was my money, i would rather get the 97. Mods do cost alot of money, but fixxing up a screwed up car will prolly end up costing more.

if they are both heavily modded, that should sway you even more towards the black one

plus, its already got the clears all around, and I know you would do those mods anyway

this has just become an easy decision, cuz the maroon max has more miles, and before i thought it had less miles than the black one

Dude,
Go for the '95, don't worry about the resale value because we all know that you will not resell it. I was debating on the two and after you added that the 97 had 120000 miles, my mind was set man.

I was going to say definetly go for the 97 until I saw your update for its mileage. Now, IMO I would get the 95, but make sure you have enough money left over for the 97-99 steering wheel, headlights, and possibly tailights. As for leather, aftermarket leather from leatherseats.com is MUCH better than factory, save up for that! Just my 2cents.

ok guys, black it is. It really was a hard decision, even with the mileage because i know tons of maxima's that are running strongh with way more miles than that. But i think i've made my decision.

Either way i'm going to get the car but just for a piece of mind, do you guys think that's a good price for the black max (7800)? over 1,000 in mods and the value of the car stock is about 6400 according to kbb.com

Well the seller is lucky he found an enthusiast like you to buy it for 7.8k... that's kinda expensive considering the value of the car drops after it's been modded. It just depends, either way you're gonna have to spend about the same for it so just get it!

Make sure u get te black leather tho! meaning from a junkyard or soemthing, so many ppl seem to be doing it now. Good Luck.
