Rewired corner lights...anything MELT?!

I'm thinking of doing this mod tomorrow, but am wondering if anyone's had a problem with things getting too hot and melting?
Definately don't want to do that!

I plan on just doing the "cut the nub off" mod....

Thanks!

I changed my 97 SE's lights to be true cornering lights with the option to run both filaments together all the time. I blew the 7.5A fuse in the first couple days, and I replaced it with a 10A, and had no problems with both filaments on for a long period of time. Just the brighter one should be fine on the 7.5A.

same deal but i just replaced it with another 7.5. the fuses are 1.99 so i would go the safe route instead of changing it to 10 amps

Changing to a higher amp fuse is the unsafe route.

It's like this. Let's say it's a regular 7.5 amp fuse. Suddenly, for some reason, there is a power surge, more than the 7.5 fuse can handle, what happens? The fuse blows and the surge cannot go to the end of the line and ruin whatever is on the other side of the fuse.

Put in a higher fuse and there is a surge. The higher fuse can maybe withstand the surge, but whatever is on the other side of the fuse cannot. What happens? You may be out a $200 product instead of a $0.35 fuse.

Never use a higher amp fuse unless specificed.
