Slave hose replacement...still have problems
I came out to a clutch of mush about two weeks ago, and found that the fluid was leaking right in the same place as the motorvate.com writeup. So I ordered the part and replaced it yesterday with realitive ease, however after bleeding the clutch over and over my pedal is still not as it should be. It starts to engage almost immediately when I come up, and the sweet spot is an inch or two compared to I would say nearly six inches I had before I lost my fluid the first time. The bolt on the slave was a little difficult going back in, so my only guess is I got it kindof cross threaded and am getting air in it that way...but I don't have any fluid coming out.... So my question is could I be getting air in without the fluid showing a leak? If not maybe I am just not doing a good job of bleeding the thing....although I felt like all the air was out..When I look at my Chiltons it doesn't mention the upper bleeder, but isn't it correct to bleed the bottom until you don't get any bubbles and then repeat on the top valve? After it happened initially I refilled and then bleed it and it was much better than it is now, so I am extremely frustrated right now...By driving my car with the clutch not completely as it should be have I damaged it?
