Just out of curiousity... question about the audi's
i was going down the highway at around 110mph when i saw these bright blue lights right UP ON MY ***, damn was this car freaking quick. now i'm cutting to the chase. well i was flooring it all the way and he seemed to just be passing by as if he wasn't trying and he had 5 people in his car.
well it was dark and i really couldn't see the back of his car that well except that it was an Audi. probably a 2.8? how fast are those? i wasn't dissapointed because my car has a stock engine so far but damn, those moments make me wish i had like an rx-7, or a 300ZX TT, or better yet, a Lambourgihni. =(

My friend has an audi A4 and those things haul ***. I think all there cars come in turbo so dont feel bad that you got burned. You can easily match up with them if you mod your car. I caught up with my friend when i put in a cold air intake and I usually beat him now.

um, it was either an S4 or an A6-T(turbo). my girlfriend has a 2000 a4 1.8t... and there is no was that car could pass a maxima on the highway. their turbo is designed for off the line acceleration... not top end. the S4's and A6T's are a different story... both v6TT's... both are quick... but heavy cars.

well i definitely know it wasn't an A6 cause it was too small and s4, unlikely, oh well he must've done something to that car but i'll beat it once i'm done with mine hehe.

ok well not to make this sound like a journal... i had a great night tonight i was coming home from stonybrook and of course i couldn't help but fly down the grand central parkway, and then i see this car catching up, so i thought let's go, damn i kicked his *** so many times i thought it was an accord coupe, anyways i gave him so many chances straightaways, and duck and weave's, i still had a car's length. so at the end i let him go and it turned out to be a Lexus SC 400, or 430, the model before the newest one. I WAS SO HAPPY hahaha... oh yeah i strobed his *** too so he wasn't playing around with me.

Judging by the bright blue color I would say that you got your *** handed to you by a biturbo S4. They make 250 hp stock, but are *very* easy to modify to well over 300 hp. Our maxima's are good for family sedans, but the Audi S4's are in a class or two above the nissans. Unless you get forced injection for your max you're outta luck, and even then you will be hard pressed to keep up. These cars have been known to beat a WRX or two in its day - and doing so with a good interior
I am a big ***** for German cars, so get yer flame throwers out.

Audi's are very performance oriented. I had a friend who owned both an A6 and an S4. Both cars drove VERY nicely. However, I wouldn't recommend keeping them beyond their factory warranty, or at least buying an extended warranty. On the A6, from the get go, he was having nothing but trouble with the engine. Hesitation, stalling, not passing smog (at 2 years old!). He would take it in, they would replace something, and two weeks later, a different problem would come up. Finally, at 25K, he had to get the engine REPLACED ( i believe it was the 2.8). A year later, the car started smelling like rotten eggs. This time it was the computer, and the computer had to be replaced. At 50K, the transmission started acting up, slipping, and not shifting out of first until redline. He was also having problems with accessories such as the sunroof and computer controlled climate system. He decided it was time to trade it in, and got himself an S4, and bought the wife an i35 to replace the A6.
The S4 is an amazing machine performance wise, but he has already had to replace the starter, and the car is less than a year old.
The A6 was never raced, it was always driven by his wife. Granted, the S4 is driven pretty hard, but I don't think that would cause the starter to fail.
He has a long attachment (and long repair bills) to VW's and will probably continue buying them, but from his experience I wouldn't recommend buying one for the long run.
