Need help with exaust piping
If i were to buy catman y pipes and b pipes and greedy mufflers it would cot almost a 1000, and i dont want to go that route, i can have custom piping made for 100, from the down pipe to the muffler. what size piping shoud i get, i only have intake, will there be a performance difference between 2 1/2 and 3 inch? will there be a performance difference with cattman and the stuff i have made? let me know
its good to see you have calmed down with your postings.... now for your questions. there will be a difference in the exhaust pipes you use. since you only have a intake go with 2.5 inch pipes, 3.0 if you have a blower. i haven't seen any shop make a y-pipe. i would go with stillen's two-piece or cattmans one. your probly talking about getting a custom exhaust from the cat-back.(the greddy is a cat-back)you can get a shop to use s.s. pipeing with your stock muffler.($100) the set you posted will cost about 850 not 1000. a b-pipe is included with the greddy. so your y-pipe is $350 and your exhaust set up will run you $100(b-pipe)and the muffler free. you already have it. =$450. also did you forget about the cat or or you getting rid of it with your exhaust work from $100?

ok
ok i have more questions, so the shop cant make the y pipe? isnt it just the piping from the headers to the cat, and i wouldnt have a cat, it would be piping from the headers strait to the muffler, why couldnt the shop do that? and what if i just got a cat back system, how much hp would that add? and how much would it add including the down pipe?

I think it's a little harder to make the Y-pipe because of the bends, flanges and holes for all the sensors. wicked forgot to mention that a new company warpspeed performance now makes a y-pipe for the maxima...might be worth checking out.
As for the rest of the setup, most people recommend a b-pipe, RT cat, and keeping the stock muffler, because the gains after the y-pipe aren't that much. I've heard for cat, and entire exhaust is only about 5-8hp while the y-pipe is around 15 alone.

Y pipe
I'm getting a Cattman Y pipe b/c I heard that the Stillen ones have rust. Expected gain in HP is rumored @ 15 HP. Hopefully so, b/c i need the power. Your looking to spend at least 900.00 Well I bought my Greddy SP Cat back for 570.00. Now, I'm ordering Cattman's Y pipe for about 390.00.Its on sale till Friday.I learned the hardway about trying to save money. You may end up messing up your car.Trust name brand stuff b/c they have been tested and used by many people.
