Sounds good, what do you gusy think of using red vinyl? Is that better or worse than paint?

Anyone suggest a good brand and where i could find that for smoking the lens?
Also, when painting the ambers... do you mask off the red portion or do u paint that as well too in order to "even" it out? Thanks.

I did it cuz it was a temporary solution.. i can take off the tape anytime i want too. I am going to paint my tails soon the way you seem em. I also will smoke the cleared portion because i think it'd look pretty good w/ my superblack.

can someone post a pic of how the lights look with the turn signals ON? I would like to do this, but I like having orange signals. I know everyone says they are still orange, but I'd like to see it for myself.

mine are definately NOT orange/amber. they illuminate the same red that the brake/running lights emit. i have pics of them lit up...but they LOOK orange due to the camera.

I used a product called "Night Shade" which is made for tinting.
(But sez right on the can "for off road use only".)
Smaller than "regular" sized spray can,
but enough for doing the rears.
Cost under $10. Made by NRT ot HRT or something
- they make the brake caliper paint too.
I did my tails, put about 5 light coats on it.
Wanted to tint it down, but not have it so dark
that policemens be looking at me hard.
I was an idjit though and did not put a clear-coat on top so it looks too matt. Will put a clear coat on one of these days...
Did my front clear corners too, but did the clear coat on those
- much better that way.
I have a neptune (dark/navy) blue car so I think the tint looks good.
Might not be right for a white or light color car.

Thanks, It does help.
The orange corners were fugly, and the clears a big improvement, but I'm going for a dark look.
The only chrome is the front grill burger and the clears just kind of "popped" too much visually.
I only did about three coats of the paint, just enough to make them look "integrated".

I used Rustoleum clear enamel.
I tested it first, but to see the effect.
Never occured to me that there might be a reaction.
Anyway, it worked fine - except for my lack of skills.
I tried to be even and light but I got some bad "orange peel" in a couple of places.
A little wet sanding and another careful coat helped.
Won't be winning an concourse,
but from a normal distance you can't see anything.
I put about 5 coats on the back lights and they are still pretty bright - 90% maybe?
Does anybody know if you can put higher wattage bulbs in the tail lights without melting the harness?
(Do they even make them?)

All red looks really cool! That's what I'm gonna do.
Although, is it legal to cover up the reverse light like that?
