tires

Any recommendations for replacement tires for my '99 Maxima SE w/ a 5 speed? I currently have 48000 miles on the OEM Goodyear Eagle RSA's. I live on Long Island, so snow can be a factor at times.

In fact, that's my next tire.

pirelli P7000 or P8000. I have P8000 and they are great in wet and dry.

I just put Dunlop SP SPort A2's on mine too...the tread is quiet, the on center steering is more forgiving (doesn't dart around on cracks and stuff) and the dry grip is great and predictable...haven't gotten to try them in wet or snow yet. Probably best bang for the buck in an all season.

another tire i tried and liked in teh past was bridgestone potenza RE910's. the reviews on tire rack are not as good as what i felt they were. but another decent all season tire for a good price and 60K mile rating

Re: tires

Just received my Dunlop A2's from tire rack yesterday and having them put on tomorrow. I have a 99 SE as well so I'll let you know what I think. I only got 39,000 out of my Goodyear RSAs.

Do you have super-sticky Z-rated tires? If so, 20K is pretty good.

Anyway, I love my Dunlop A2's. The RSA's I had on my car still had lots of tread left, but they were downright scary in the rain and had the grip of 10-year-old Scotch tape on dry roads.

I'm running the A2's with H&R's and AGX's and my car rides almost better then stock! That tire rides so amazingly smooth and quiet, yet handles great just about everywhere. Really compliments a good sport suspension set up.

I may even sell my 17's and just keep the stock 5 spoke 16" Titanimu rims with the A2's all year long. Thats how nicely my car rides on them.

I'll miss my Monsoons thou.. They look hot on my car.

I'm not looking for the best tires cause I don't have that much money but what do you think of Dunlop Graspic Ice-N-Snow P205/65R15 for $80CAN ?

That is the exact Wheel/Tire set up I have on my max.

This is my 1st set of Dunlop A2's. However, I have had nothing but dunlop since 1991. my 1st were OE on my 91 SE-R, then replaced those with Dunlop SP4000 then later those were replaced with Dunlop SP5000. I avgd. 45K out of all of those. I now have A2's on my Max for two weeks now and these have been fantastic in every wet condition I have been in (No snow yet though). Put over 400 miles on them in the rain on vacation the week of Halloween. Very pleased so far.

And I think this may not be related, but for some reason since I have been driving on Dunlops, I never have had a flat tire! And I live in rural country and drive on dirt roads. An amazing 11 year no-flat, no air leak record there!

Dunlop Sport A2 reccomendation here again

I live on Long Island and I could say these tires are superb. They are by far some of the best all season performance tires.. Rain and dry is excellent, haven' tried them in snow but wouldn't be surprised if they kicked *** there too..

Perelli P7000 supersport, sucks in the winter , I had them on my 90 GXE max.During the winter , I had to dig mycar out of lite snow, (lots of skidding, very dangerous). If you like to spend $ 123 per tire , then go ahead . It is an excellent dry and exceptional tire in rain. They are loud and heavy. Tire wear is also poor. I have no recomendations as for now , but I had to let you know about Pirelli , P 7000 supersport.

Has any one tried the tires from COSTCO, they only carry Bridgestones, and Michelins ... the cheapest Michelin they have is the MXV4+ for $136 ea, this incudes every thing mouting, road hazard, lifetime rotation.
