Silver Star headlight owners, any problems with Silver Star Head Lights....?

I just purchased a set of Silver Star head lights. My EuroLights, burnt out fast as hell. Well, i was wondering has anyone had a problem with these bulbs. I don't have an upgraded harness, do i need to get one for these bulbs ince it indicates that the max wattage for them are 50/70 watts. So far I've had them for a week now, but if i need to upgrade my harnesses or buy a new set, let me know. I've heard a few members have good things to say about these bulbs and i love the look. Thanks for the feed back people.

does anybody know how these compare with philips blue visions? I know they are both supposed to be pure white, not blue at all, but maybe the silverstars are whiter than my philips blue visions, in which case i'm missing out

Did you have to upgrade your harnesses at all and how long how you had them?

I don't like silverstar too much. They are nice and a bit whiter than than stock bulbs but me and a friend from nissanforums found an even better brand @ http://globalpremier.com/. The XD5s are 5100K (silverstar=4100K) and they last longer. The person who recommended them to me has had the FXs on his for a while and the XDs are meant to last 3x longer than his.

I've had the silverstars for about 3 weeks now, and I have had no problems with them, I like them a lot too. Never had the philips bulbs, so I dont know the difference between the 2 of them.

I had the blue visions for two years and they were alright. They seemed a little yellowish for me. I didn't want to upgrade the wiring harness so I stuck with them. Then the silverstars came out. I bought some and in my opinion they are waaaay better than the blue visions. Much whiter and definitely improves vision at night. A great bulb for the wattage it uses.

nice, thanks for the replies

and kwamdoo, i doubt you need to upgrade your harness if theyre only 50/70 watts. I ran Naxos 100/80 watts for like 6 months, and my harness was fine..

They were made by DavidL, I ran a GD for 95-96 red/clear tails in Nov/Dec last year, hooked up 20+ 95-96 Maxima owners with sets.

You could expect to pay about almost $200 from DavidL for a new set now (last known e-mail is davidl7@earthlink.net , dunno if it still works or if he still makes them), there's word that custommaxima.com will be making them end of this year but this has been ongoing, so I don't know when it will happen.

Check out my homepage, page 2 for a better pic of the outer red/clear tails. The clear part doesn't match up 100% with the inner tails but it's only noticeable in bright light (sunlight, etc). I can live with it, much better than the stock amber lenses.

Yes, they do look good

Sylvania Silver Star's are actually upadated Phillips Blue Vision bulbs. My roommate used to work at Osram/Sylvania. Yes, the Silver Star bulbs are better than the blue vision.
