Carbon Fiber Do-it yourself?

Ive had this odd idea. Is there anyone or anyway of learning how to carbon fiber something. Is it like fiberglassing?. The Idea was covering a new skyline front with carbon fiber mesh, maybe buff it out and apply a clear of some sort and re-buff. Any IDEAS? or has anyone tried to carbon fiber something..Can i buy a book on this ya think..

I have made many things with carbon fiber. It's actually quite easy. I basically just use normal fiberglass materials except with carbon fiber or fiberglass and carbon fiber. This method does not yield the great strength and ultra light weight or resin impregnated, vacuum bagged, and pressure formed carbon fiber is known for, but it works good for aesthetic value. You can finish it just as you said. If your familiar with fiberglass, the process is quite simple. The internet, or a public library should have a plethora of information for you. I've never done anything as complicated as a front end, that could get tricky. I would suggest trying a little on something else first to experiment (like a junk front end from another car), and think through the process thoroughly before attempting a front end.
