I have the PIAA Xtreme White bulbs, have been running them for a couple weeks now, no melted harnesses here.....

I think its if you have something brighter, like a 5000K+ HID bulb or something, not really sure...

If the wattage of the bulb is like 100w/80w then you should get the upgraded harness. www.suvlights.com

Normal wattage is 65w/45w I believe.

Hmm. I know Nissan sells replacement connectors for the headlight harness. Basically requires cuting the old connector off and connecting the new one on by whatever means you choose. (ie. soldering, strip and twist, posilock connectors, butt-end connectors, etc.)

You may want to check with your local dealer or talk to Ken at www.jerryromenissan.com to see if they have replacement connectors for the fog lights.

no, piaa bulbs won't melt anything cuz they're stock wattage (which makes me wonder why people think they're so good?) They will just die out pretty quick, from what I hear.
Why would HID melt your wire harness? They're only 35watts each.
If you do a search, some members claim that instead of buying another harness, you could just add another wire to the ground and connect it to the chassis. I dunno the physics of that one. I also don't know the physics on why you would need an upgraded harness if the base of the bulb was made well (prevents heat from going backwards towards the harness. I think most harnesses melt cuz the contacts are dirty.

or may be it's the bulb that's fused, do you have u'r old bulbs that u can put back in and test?

PIAA's do have a tendencey of fusing sooner than others.
