Strange noise when starting Maxima

Every morning when I start my car its about 30 degrees Fairenheit and I hear a rattling of some sort that I think I've pinpointed to the belts area. I am curious if this sound is indicating to me that I need to replace some belts. The sounds only last for about 2 seconds but it make sthe Max sound sickening when one first starts it. If anyone has any suggestions to what I may to to prevent this sounds in the future, it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Does it sound like the starter could be making this noise? If so, check out here: http://www.motorvate.ca/auto/maxima/starter/starter.htm

I'd imagine...

Only when its cold I hear the rattle-like noise coming from the engine bay. I wouldn't imagine it to be a starter problem but I suppose I will check the belts and pullies. Thanks for the input y'all!

My 202,000 mile 95GLE has been doing that since i hit about 100,000. I talked to a nissan service guy who said that rattling is caused by the plastic chain pullys getting worn, he suggested that if i was concerned i could bring it in and they would charge about 400 to go in and trade out the parts.
