Rear Brakes mushy and soft after change

Today, I installed Axis Pads on my rear discs.

I used the proper piston tool, brake quiet, and everything seemed to go well.

The one thing I did not do, however, was bleed the brakes.

Now my brakes are VERY mushy - I have to practically floor the pedal to get any good response. My E-Brake seems to work, but I still have to lift it up almost all the way to get it to work well. - So this tells me the rears are working, just not well.

Is this caused by air in the brake system, or is there something else I missed?

I did a search, and didn't find much....

Thanks!

There is air in the system. Try rebleeding them if you have already.

You have to bleem them Ian. Even though it says it's not required if you don't disconnect the lines... I had the same problem when I changed my front brake pads, and I had to bleed them...

BTW, I think Jeff has some cool tool for bleeding brakes, you might want to ask him...

It's this hommade thing that lets you bleed and flush your brake system with only one person.

Anyway, brakes have been bled - MUCH better!

Man that was easy!
