Help please ,Knock Sensor, Park/Neutral switch question
Help please ,Knock Sensor, Park/Neutral switch question
My check engine light on my 1995 Maxima SE 5-speed is on. I check the code with the help of Maxima.org (Thank you very much!)and it said is the Knock Sensor and the Park/Neutral switch. I cally local Nissan Dealer and they give me a price of $180.50 for the Knock Sensor but could not find the Park/Neutral Switch part for a 1995 SE Manual trans. I do not know much about cars, Does any body know what it is and where it goes? How much apprx. does it cost? Maybe a good mechanic in the area other than Nissan dealer?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

The park/neutral switch is on the side of the transmission case. If you get under your car, on the driver's side of the transmission, there is a wire coming out the side of the transmission case. That is the park/neutral switch inside your transmission. I replaced mine a while back but cannot remember the price. Sorry. Anyone here remember the price for that?
