It's 3:30am and I can't fall asleep. I read the maxima top speed thread and people say their top speed for 5 speed SE are 120-140?145?
I decide the take the maxima out the i-40 and the spurt of the moment to see what my max could do. Now from my understanding, SE models have no speed governors. I get on the hw and finally mustard up the courage to let all he** break loose. I'm cruising around 90-100mph and just dumped it into 4th. Wow 4th topped at 128 129.?? Fifth took me all the way to the 140 mph speedometer. I pussed out and stopped but I swear the car was still pulling at 140. At 3:30 something in the morning I wasn't feeling brave enough to keep going even I wish I would have. Any one else have any similar 140, 140+mph encouters??? Interested to know.

On a trip through West Texas I got it up to around 125-128mph, but I didn't feel comfortable going any faster on my stock suspension, 15 inch wheels and sh!tty tires. Once I get some AGX's with some good springs I'm sure I'll pass 140mph.

 

So, how could he fit stock tires on those MOMOs? Ask yourself that...

i've gotten my automatic to 125mph. i would've gone faster until i decided i was still too young to die.

 

Not many people have painted their inner-instrument-binnacle-trim silver like mine...

 

hey if my old 87 stock with 146k could do 124 i don't doubt yours could do 130 I belive you

 

140+ with just my intake, don't know how much difference its gonna make with my y on now. Excited to see...
