Problem with lights behind AC control...Please help me fix...

Basically, the lights behind the AC control are burned out or something. The RED heat up, ECON, and AUTO button lights are not working. I have a pic at the bottom. Is this a fuse issue or what? How do I fix it? I tried looking on the web for a solution but couldn't find one, probably because of my noobness...

If someone could help or point me to an exact explanation on the net I would appreciate it!

TIA for your help!

I have the same problem, and have been putting off changing them for some time now. The only thing I can offer is the instrutions to remove the stereo seem to apply to this situation. The instructions can be seen here:

I did mine,

There are 4 little bulbs that you can only get from the nissan dealer, and it's about $4 a bulb. Easy job.

I wrote up instructions on replacing the bulbs with LEDs, but the pictures might help. Basicly, once you get the climate control out, you can use a philips screwdriver to take the individual bulbs out of the unit w/o taking the unit apart. The bulbs are each in a little plastic holder, and if you can get the same kind of bulb, you should be able to rewire it into the holder..

Are the lights the same size as the little ones in the gauge cluster that light up the indicator lights like seatbelt, check engine, etc? The ones with dark brown handles, 5 in a row?

Also wondering.. Is it possible to change the light in the radio? Would love to be able to make it blue.

I did this fix as well but at the same time I had the Bose headunit out in the shop. Basically you have to rip out the entire center console to get to the back of the climate unit. The bulbs run about $16 from the dealer (4 @ $4) and make sure you replace them all at once. You don't want to have to rip the console apart again--at least it isn't how I like to spend my Saturday afternoons. The bulbs screw into the back of the unit with a regular flat head screwdriver. Either 1/4 or 1/2 turn should lock them in place. The carstereohelp link is what I used to pull the console apart. As far as changing the color of the bulbs I'm not an electrician so its all you. Good luck!
