i went to the dealer yesterday for check engine light. and they diagnosed(??) it for 30 min. and told me that my vehicle speed sensor was messed up. and they quoted me $450 for it... i don't know what to do..... i wanted get it fixed but they said they had to order parts for it and i gotta go back next week to get it done....

Does your speedometer and cruise control work? If so, it'd appear that your VSS is working. Did you try putting your ECU into diagnostics mode yourself to see what codes was causing the ECU to light the MIL?

this is what i found out...
they said i need to replace gauge cluster... i was told it was internal failure inside of gauge.... can i just purchase used cluster from junk yard and replace it? is it possible? what if mileage is little different?
