pics of completed I30 seat/door swap

i just finished up the swap. everything went really smooth. my car did not originally have leather so i got the 4 whole door panels to go with the seats that have tilted headrests and rear headrests. let me know what you think.

pics are here on page 2.

Did you feel you car pull harder? Good Job, looks just like my car inside, except my floormats say "touring" on them

Your car always looks real nice Paul. That was a good finishing touch for the interior. I have always wanted tilting headrests for my car. I've just never gotten around to getting them. Looks sweet, I know you'll keep it up.

i30 leather

looks good. the leather in my 98 is kinda rough (former owner didn't take care of it), but i have convinced my mom to let me switch out the leather when she eventually sells her 96 i30. i can't wait for that day. anyway, i have a couple of questions. if anyone knows please answer:

1. will the 96 i30 seats fit in a 98 max without any modification?

2. is i30 leather really higher quality? I'm not sure that it is. it feels the same as the good parts of my leather, and some of it feels like pleather (vinyl).

3. i don't have heated seats. does anyone know if the power supply to the heated seats comes pre-wired? would it be pretty easy/cheap to install if i just bought the heated seats switches?

Yes it will fit!

Yes it it complete leather rather than partial leather

3. i don't have heated seats. does anyone know if the power supply to the heated seats comes pre-wired? would it be pretty easy/cheap to install if i just bought the heated seats switches?

It will be easy since all you need is a power and a ground.

BUT i might be wrong on this last one.

maybe i am reading wrong...but dont you have to have the heating element in the seats for the switches to actually turn on and heat the seat? or do all seats have the elements in them?

For the heated seat question I would say do a search, I know it's been discussed. However, if my memory serves me, the wiring is all ready in place for the heated seats. I think there is wiring to where the switches would go (in the center console near the cup holder) and to the locations under the 2 front seats. Like Requin6 mentions, you'll need seats w/ heater elements in them - those seats will have a few more connectors than a basic power seat. Hope that helps some.

i don't have heating elements now, but i will when i switch out my seats with the i30's. btw, i know another problem i would run into is figuring out how to put the switches in. it looks like it would be more difficult than in a 95-96 max where there is a coin holder in place of the buttons. does anybody have a pic of the heated seats in a 97+ max?
