I post something on this the other day. Ok i got ecu code 9long/8short
and it was the engine coolant temperature sensor. When i reset the ECU the car hardly stays started @ 300 rpms.

My Morning auto_choke that revs at 1100rpms in the morn doesnot Work.
I have to manually press the gas to get it Going.

I've done most maintence.plugs.fuelfilter.oilpressswitch.

I changed the engine coolant temperature sensor yesterday. reset ecu. and STILL I have to press the gas to start it today. it doesnt go through the warm up stage either. whats goin on here... shold i dissconnect the battery..?
please help guys....mdub

check the ecu and see if it is throwing a "ghost code" (code is there but the CEL is not on). if not, check into other areas which would effect this:

- get a new fuel filter
- clean the throttle body

Are you sure you put that screw back in the centered position? If so then give your car's ECU about a week to relearn everything. I read a TSB post someplace that stated resetting ECU's on some cars causes it to run poorly until the ECU relearns how your car runs.

Give it a week, it should clear up.

I replaced the fuel filter with original Nissan equip.

So you think i should just check the ecu again with the light off and see if it throws a code back..
OR
Should i disconnect the battery for a minute or let the ecu and Maxima suffer to do its thing. .... thanks org.

hey you know what
can someone get me a pic of how the ecu is supposed to be set at.
like theres the line..then you turn in counter-clockwise. when you turn it back to the line how far do you go. i dont force past stop but it turns easily past the return line just a little.
did that make sense....?
anyone have a close pic of it in the correct setting position?
