Compression and Leak Down Test

Can these tests be done at a Nissan dealer with the CONSULT tool, without having to disconnect spark plugs, etc? OR do you have to do the tests the conventional way (removing plugs)? I am looking at a car to buy and want to get these tests done. Anyone done this at the dealer? How much $$$ do you think I'd be looking at?

Thanks!

Re: Compression and Leak Down Test

You have to use a compression gauge for a compression test. The dealer will charge a lot. I'd do it myself. I did it for the 1st time the other day and it was very easy.

As pmg said, compression tests are easily done by simply pulling the plugs. A leak down test will cost you more, and probably cannot be done by a dealer.

A friend of mine once took his car to a performance shop for a leak down test.
