bro,

www.tirerack.com has some of the best prices i have seen

These are some of the best tires for a good price:
Dunlop Sport A2
and
Sumitomo HTR+ (these only come in 225/50/16, a little lower profile but they fit good)

I had both of these
and they are very nice

the Dunlops grip like glue and they are QUIET!!!! all season high performance..

Tirerack (www.tirerack.com) has the best prices I've seen, but
they don't carry nitto. I wouldn't recommend getting either of
those especially not the 450's. Check out Dunlop's Sport A2 at
tirerack.

I've had the 555's and there pretty good at first but performance
falls off fast and they absolutly suck in the rain (Hydroplane and
the traction sucks). They are also noisy. As for the 450's I've known numerous people that have had these and say they are no good, bad grip and noisy.
FYI, I've worked at a rim/tire shop for 3 years. We do a lot of
rims and high performance tires so I have a lot of experience with different tires.

The Kumho 716 has an excellent track record. It's an all season tire with a 380 treadwear, and has excellent feedback from the customers at tirerack.

Below are the sizes and pricing. Oh, they don't list the 215/55/16, but do list the 225/55/16. The difference in size is not even significant, (0.3" taller) and the price is only $63. The Dunlops are $91 each. I can buy them installed and balanced from the local tire store for $84 each... which is about what shipping and installation would cost going through tirerack... without the hassle!

Below is Tirerack's survey (feedback) from their customers on this tire.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....=Ecsta+HP4+716

The Dunlop A2's are also excellent tires.

Good Luck!

If you want the stock size go with the Dunlop A2. Go Kumho if you want to be cheap, but it's a slightly larger tire, and if you want to go for 225/50/16 go with the Sumitomo HTR+. Personally I'd go for
the Dunlop's. Many people on this board will tell you the same. By the way toyo makes nitto.

Bridgestone makes the RE950. I like them a lot, just got them 10 days ago. Got a good deal ($6 per tire cheaper than the Dunlops) ... actually cheaper than through TireRack and getting them mounted at one of their local recommended installers. I called a couple of local tire shops on TireRack's list and they wanted around $20 per tire for mount, balance, and disposal fee. I got the mount, balance, disposal fee, and road hazard for $10 per tire.

Do you have a close - up shot of your new tires? The 950s seem to have an aggressive looking sidewall...would like to see how it looks on the Max before I make my decision on tires. Tx.
