Heat or cut springs??

I bought those dame Drop Zone spring on ebay and purchased all new Tokico Blues. After about 3 months of settleing the rear end has droped about 2" or maybe a bit more.. but as for the front i think its only droped about an inch.. i want to lower the front more to make it look even.. but i dont know wheather to cut a coil off or to simply heat one of them with a torch... have any of you heated or cut a coil before... how do you go about doing it... and i did run a search so there is no need to flame me...

I do not really support cutting springs, but if you insist, have them cut. It is the easiest/cheapest route when it comes to "cutting" down springs.

Contact Jay25 on the procedure. He may be able to help you out.

Are you saying that NONE of these threads answer your question?

NEVER heat a spring to lower a car. Heating will kill the temper and tension of the spring, which can damage it... not good.

If you MUST do one or the other, cut a coil.

Good Luck!

Not to rip on you, but that is often what happens when you are the innovator. You tried previously untested springs and are not satisfied. Kudos for the bravery, and thanks for the info on them. It just really sux that they did not give you the results that you were looking for. When I saw them on eBay I was a little suspicious because I had never heard of them on the org...now i am glad that I did not decide to be the first.

I would say cut them, or sell them on eBay and recoup your costs as best you can, then go w/ Maxspeeds, H&Rs, or B&Gs...

Oh man you should have gotten some Maxspeed springs. From what I hear around here, can't beat those for around $100.

If you just toss them, I would not mind having the FRONTS for my GLE. I need to lower my front only.
