PIAA H3 wattage question

At their website, PIAA says for the various H3's (e.g.): for super white platinum, 55w=85w, 3800K

Does that mean it is a 55w bulb and it emits a light the same as an 85w bulb? Or is it an 85w bulb?

It means that PIAA is claiming that their 55W bulb puts out the same light as an 85 Watt bulb.

Can you say MARKETING?

Ok. I wanted to make sure. That is what I thought. Up until a month ago, I was running PIAA superwhites in H-light and fogs. One of the fogs blew out after only one year's use. I know their warranty does not cover bulbs, but I e-mailed them to find out if they'll replace it. I might still go ahead and buy another pair of them. They were very bright and lit the road up.

Who has the best price for PIAA super white 55w H3's?
