Totaled 95 GLE: Should I Buy It for $500?
Totaled 95 GLE: Should I Buy It for $500?
The insurance company totaled my 95 GLE and have given me the option of buying it from them for $500. The car took a heavy hit behind the rear wheels. The back doors no longer open, but everything else forward of the rear wheels works fine.
The car has 176K miles and stills runs well. The driver's seat is worn, but the other seats are nearly new. The drivetrain is fine. The Bose sound system, heated seats, console, etc. are in very good shape, as are the front doors, front quarters, hood and front bumper. Is it worth the time and effort to part out this car?
Mike
P.S. By the weay, I'm buying a loaded 2k2 Maxima SE from a maxima.org member (found it in the classified section).

hmmm...i dont really know but maybe the leather and bose headunit could be worth more that 500 (maybe throw in some other stuff)
anyways in august i bought my 93 max after a totaled hit to the trunk for around 500 and sold it to the guy at the shop it was towed to for about 700 or 800...he needed the whole front end to replace a max with a front end collision so he could sell the car
gl....looking for a new max?
