130k mile report.

ok, I'll be passing 130k mark this week and wanted to do a little report to be used as reference, for noobs and for people who recently bought used maximas.

My car = 98 SE (had it since it had less than 10 miles)
--------------------------------------------------

Maintenance items I have done so far.
--------------------------------------------------
Front brake pads and rotors replaced at 65k.
Front brake pads and rotors replaced at 130k.
Original rear rotors still on. Rear pads replaced at 80k.
PCV valve replaced at 65k.
Tranny flush at 65k.
Radiator flush at 65k.
Brake flush at 130k for the first time.
Belts replaced at 130k for the 1st time.
spark plugs replaced with platinums at 65k.
spark plugs replaced with coppers at 130k.
Fuel filter replaced 3 times so far. Currently using the 300z filter.
Oil changes every 3000 mile with dino oil. Went to Mobil 1 around 85k and every 5000 mile since then. Doesnt consume any oil yet, meaning my seals are still good.
Went through 4 sets of tires.
Got NOS at 110k miles, I think.
Original shocks and struts still on and they're so toast..
Other than these routine maint. stuff, my car has been trouble free.

Maintenance I will be doing within next 2 months.
---------------------------------------------------
Radiator flush
Tranny flush
Get KYB GR2 (I consider shocks a mandatory maintenance item, not a mod)
Replace rear tires.
Replace 1 broken wheel stud.

Thins I hope will never go bad, but might go bad soon.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Knock sensor
one or all of 02 sensors
crankshaft seal

Now the people who's had their maxes longer than I did, please put your input so we can all start to prepare for things that will go bad.

What kind of difference did you notice when you had the brake system flushed?

My brake performance had deteriorated really bad.. It was very mushy and it took longer to stop and etc, and my pads were really worn out. And my fluid was all black due to all the years of hard use. I got the flush done along with new rotos and pads. Needless to say, it's day and night difference now.

congrats
I'm right behind you with 126k..

i have no idea on the previous history of the car other than the milage is mostly highway.. a year ago the car had around 74k miles.. someone drove over 40k in 1 year before i got the car with 115k in august and put another 11k..

I changed my belts, pcv valve, fuel and air filters and put in brand new NGK platinum plugs...
my brakes need to be replaced soon.. i don't think my clutch has been replaced either and highly doubt any fluids other than engine oil have been changed..

that's 115k miles of relatively average or maybe even poor maintenance.. but it runs excellent..
my struts are trashed too.. but I got new KYB AGXs and H&R springs sitting in the basement waiting for installation..

these cars are very reliable..

i've driven many different cars and most cars with 120k+ miles drove like ****... while my 97 with 126k drives just as well as my 98 with 73k...

My 95 GLE has 203,000 plus miles on it. Other than the Tires, brakes, oil etc. I have replaced:

1 oxy sensor about 130,000
alternaltor about 170,000
cv axles about 190,000

Things i have not replaced that I would have tought not to last this long.
Fuel filter
Belts
muffler

thanks for your input. so I guess I need to be thinking about the alternator and the cv axle..
You got 200k miles on original belts? omg. why don't you replace them before it snaps. (if worn belts are known to snap at all)
