Got my AGX's !!!

Finally. I will soon have my sprints on with them! How do you adjust the back skocks? There is no knob like the front ones.

Ummmm..... If they're real orange AGX's the rears should have a big plastic 8 position dial right on the outside of the housing. The fronts should have a 4-position setting built into the top of the strut rod adjusted with a little screwdriver.

I think you are confusing the front ones with the rears.

The rears have a large knob on the side of the strut below the spring seat. The fronts DO NOT have a knob on them. Adjustment is achieved by using a small flat head screwdriver (supplied w/ the struts) and pushing and turning the adjuster on the very top of the piston shaft. If you look on the very top, you will see 4 numbers arranged in a circle.

Will the rear knobs be blocked by the strut boots?

Nope. Not at all.

The rear knobs are located BELOW the spring seat. Thus, they are not anywhere close to the strut boots. The rears are easily accessible from below the car. Don't need to take the tire off or anything. Just crouch down, reach behind the rear wheel and turn the dial.

Or if you have problems reaching the knob, jack the car up ;)

When you install your rear shocks, make sure the knob is facing towards the centerline of the car & not the outside. It makes adjusting of the knob that much easier.

Conrad283 Dec 24, 2002 08:18 PM

there should be little screw drivers that came with the front ones .... the adjustment is on the top it had 4 settings (1-4) once you put the AGX's on you'll see, you're able to adjust them by simply popping the hood ... the little screw drivers help adjust  hope that helps

how's that possible? I thought there's only 1 way to mount struts?

I'm pretty sure you can mount them either way. All you have to do is rotate the top part that has the two bolts that attach to your body, everything else is pretty much symmetrical.

I have my adjustment knobs facing outward, but I'm sure many people have them inward too. I guess its easier to adjust if theyre facing inward, but I don't really adjust them too much anyway.

I believe you're right about the struts (which are on the front) but not the shocks which are on the rear. I'm actually going from what I read about someone else's post a little while back.

I have only adjusted my rear shocks when going to the 1/4 mile track. I crank it from 4 to 8. I find it's a bit hard to reach in to adjust the knob without jacking up the car a bit. Maybe I just have short arms.
