Mountain Driving... AWESOME!

I live in Boulder, CO. There are literally hundreds of mountain paths within 10min of my apt. I just went up Boulder canyon about 20mi. Doing 50-80 in 2nd and 3rd gear all the way up, damn jeep wrangler in front of me. But still, even with a little melted snow (water) and gravel on the road in places, i felt the max really held its own. I had no probs at all with any of the turns at speed (except turnbacks).
On the way down, i was doing 40-70, mostly in 2nd grar, and it was perfect! Just the right amoung of engine braking, and i could floor it and instantly be going 65! Barely used brakes since i am very aware of cars, road conditions and turns. So when i needed them, they were there and not too hot.
I just gotta say that the tone of my exhaust is TO DIE FOR now! There was even a tunnel, and with the windows 25% down, the echo would have made classic muscle car owners envious.
Plus, when driving at constant speed there is almost no sound louder than stock.

I just fell in love with this car again.
And i want to say that anyone without a y-pipe, GO GET ONE NOW!

I dont want to jinx this tho, i have had lots go wrong in the last few months....

i have some crap all season tires, pep boys H rated i think.

they skid but dont squeal most of the time when i launch hard: they suck!

anyway, i just have FSTB and RSB for suspension mods. Struts, springs, strut bearings, rims and tires are all on the future list.

Both actually, 34 takes you from Loveland up the Big Thompson canyon. Both are cool as long as you got no slow pokes.

Sick driving a max on dirt!

Yes but what you said is true, mountain driving is enjoyable. I drove my 1990 volvo 740(rip) beast on mountain paths quite a bit. It was rwd so i was all over the place but boy, it was some dirty fun!
