Service engine light code ---
#1
All,
I have a 99 SE ltd and just reset the ECU. The
code I got crosses to the following:
A/T TCC Signal
Reference Page AT-89
(1st trip DTC)
Anyone got a manual that could explain to me
what this code is? I have the new VB installed
and the tranny is working fine. Any help would
be appreciated. I am just trying to figure out
what was originally wrong as I believe this problem
has been fixed.
Thanks!
BB

<font color="blue">This malfunction is detected when the A/T does not shift into fourth gear position or the torque converter clutch does not lock up as instructed by the TCM. This is not caused by electrical malfunction (circuits open or shorted) but by mechanical malfunction such as control valve sticking, improper solenoid valve operation, malfunctioning oil pump or torque converter clutch, etc.</font>
The manual lists these as possible causes:
- Torque converter clutch solenoid
- Each clutch
- Hydraulic control circuit
