97 different from 99?

just wondering cause i thought i read 97,98 strut bar wouldnt fit a 99 this true ? i have a 97 se auto and plan on throwing all my mods onto the 99 se 5sp whenever i find it any difference between the two?

Actually, the correct answer is it depends...

Some f the later 99's have an extra bracket on
them that will require you to cut the FSTB. However,
some of the FSTB's were already changed to accomodate
this and fit previous years as well.

I had to cut my Stillen FSTB because I did not want
to wait for them to re-manufacture a new one. I think
there are others that will fit all 99's, but I have
no experience with them.

BTW, the cut is very simple and does NOT change the
FSTB at all. It simply notches out a space for the
extra bracket.

Lets see, a 99 can have the Limited version, which includes badges on the doors, titanium wheels and face. ALso, on a 99 the fuel guage points the other way, and the ODO is digital rather then analog. Also, the exhaust is changed slightly as well on california models. The O2 sensor plugs directly into the cat, instead of behind it now.

Correction on californina model 99s. The O2 sensor does not plug into the cat. There is no O2 sensor on the cat or after the cat. This is why I can run my car without a cat and no check engine light.
