Pinstripe Removal - those of you who have done it

Borrowed a heat gun from a fellow .Org member (seximagtr) and I am going to be removing the pinstripes this week. For those of you who have done it, did you have any problems? My car is a 98 and I think I might end up with a stripe in the paint where the pinstripe was. Will this just go away after a bit of wax or what? Also, for the actual removal, should I be able to just heat the end and it start peeling up or what. Let me know how you did it without F-ing up the paint.

I would really like to take my pinstripe off too. I don't understand who thought those ever looked good. it's probably one of those things that the dealers try to sell you for '1million dollars'(Dr.Evil voice).

SEARCH!

-Pinstripes are extremely easy to take off, use a heat gun or hairdryer, doesn't take much heat so use a heat gun from like a foot away, and start peeling at the creases of the door and try to keep it all together as you peel off, it makes it easier instead of picking it off peice by peice. Then use some rubbing alcohol/goo gone to get the sticky icky off and then wash/wax repeat until there is no visual mark.

ditto, but I used foam window cleaner to get the goo off. It worked well! I did have a slight fade line, but it blends in nicely. I don't even notice it anymore.

Goof OFF!!!!!! Best invention ever. For my pin stripe removal I didn't even us a heat gun, i just used my fingers to peel it off, slow and easy. after I got it all off than I used goof off to bush off the left over goo. Warning! Watch for dripping Goof off that runs down the side of your car when you are doing this. I didn't even realize and by the time I had finished I looked at the cross bar on the door and realized it had faded the paint slightly. So just rub it all off and your set. The car looks a lot better with out those damn ugly pin stripes.
