adding an A'PEXi filter.

I'm wanting to add an A'PEXi filter to either a Bomz CAI or Hybrid intake... something similar to the Frankencar setup. At the A'PEXi website there are many different intakes listed, with the "universal" intake listed last. My guess is that's the one I'm looking for. Doubt crops up from the "filter only" statement in the part description - it makes me wonder what the other car specific intakes include. I wish they had more detailed pictures.
Am I correct in saying that the Universal Power Intake filter replacement is what I'm looking for? Is there any additional adapter that I would need to attach the filter to the pipe?

...which filter are you talking about that does not fit in the fenderwell? There are many listed... do they all have the same dimensions? What are the maximum dimensions a filter can have and still fit in the fender well?

The Apex'i and all of the other "Pop" style filters will not fit in the fender well. K&N has one that is more narrow that does fit, it came with my PR CAI.

I just won an eBay auction for the Apex'i Power Intake for a 240sx. I'm thinking it'll fit the Maxima since Nissan shares the same dimensions for the MAF mount. Got it slightly used for $41 plus $15 shipping.

Here's my off topic gripe: The auction explicitly stated "Buyer pays actual shipping charges." I get an invoice via email for $41 plus $15 for shipping. How could he charge more than 1/3 of the item price as "actual shipping charges?" He didn't ask me my zip code or anything. I've shipped an intake kit for across the country for under $8. I emailed him this and he told me that I'm also paying for packaging and the product is well worth the extra money. Kinda bummed cuz I know someone that works for Apex'i in Orange and I'm pretty sure I could have gotten the same thing brand new for the same price.

You got a good deal. I would not worry about it.
