Will 95/96 ECU work in a 99?

If I get a 95/96 ECU and have JWT program it, will it plug in to my 99? I'm getting a MEVI and would really like to get the 7200 rpm redline to take advantage of it. Has anyone actually put a 95/96 ECU in a 99? Thanks.

NO, 99 is the only ECU that's different from all the other 4th gen ECU's.

technically the "older" 99's still use the same ecu. but the early '95 ecu is an OBDI. not sure if that effects anything because the '96 and later are OBDII
