My friend is looking to buy a 4th generation Maxima. He saw this one but he cant tell what model it is..GXE,SE,SE limited. The seller says it s a SE but is there a way to tell by features , etc? Sorry for the newbie question I tried to do a search for it but I couldnt find any threads with this info.

 

white gauges,16" rims,spoiler,black door handles,fog lights,black grill,bose leather,sunroof....some of these are of other models but for sure...white faced gauges unless the owner was on this site....

I dont believe the SE comes with leather seats, but they come with all the other stuff listed.....

I beg to differ, my SE has got leather.

 

Se maximas can come with leather but it was not standard. Grill and door handles will be body color, Also their is no brake light on the rear window {by the rear speakers} plus the white gauges!

 

This SE has leather as well...

white gauges is pretty much the standard way to tell!

 

SE springs are stiffer and thicker than GXE/GLE springs. But since most people do not look at springs, the white faced gauges are generally a rule to indicate a SE model. And the wing comes stock. Some people will swap the gauges out. If the car has chrome door handles/window trim it is not a SE.

What makes it an SE or SE limited?

 

SE Limited came w/ a couple more features like leather seats standard, nice SE Limited floor mats, Rims are a darker shade of gray, along w/ the gauge cluster, heated seats, and a most importantly a badge on the passenger and driver's side doors that says SE Limited

As far as everyone saying that "white face gauges" are the best way
to tell, I would like to differ -- In fact, I'm sure that MANY MANY
folks on here have swapped out their black face gauges for white ones.

Best bet -- There shouldn't be a brake light on the rear deck because
it is on the spoiler (which is stock on an SE).

Alternatively, you could get the VIN and ask a Nissan dealer...
unless it's listed on the .org somewhere.
