I got my first 4th gen SE Max(after trading in my 3rd gen SE), and along with it came a problem with the factory alarm. Whenever the car is driving, the interior lights will click on and off in short intervals. Even after pressing the remote, it only shuts off for a short while then comes back on. The previous owner looks to have installed all of his own stereo equipment, so that is where I am going to start looking for a bad wire connection. This does not affect the driving of the vehicle, so I can live with it for at least a couple of days before I go crazy.

 

It might not be the factory alarm. Alot of people put the add on alarm to the factory. It arms and disarms via the factory key fob. It sounds like when you dis-arm the system it waits a bit and then passively arms itself and goes off again.
