wheel hop

I get wheel hop once in a while. It drives me crazy. Are my engine mounts worn out?? IF so, is it better to replace with OEM or go with aftermarket?

Get some heavy 18's... you won't have to worry, they wont spin at all..

But, I don't think that engine mounts have to do with wheel hop.. ( you are talking about accelerating and turning from a stop.. right? ) If so, I believe it just has to do with the fact we don't have an LSD and one will wheel will grab and lose traction intermidently. Not much to do about that..

Polyfill your mounts, and get a good suspension setup up front.

LSD is not the problem

I have a 1998 infiniti i30 stick, and sometimes when i just accel. a little to quickly the wheels hop on my car as well, but they shoudn't!

I had it checked out, the VLSD that came with my cars gearbox is perfectly fine and so are my mounts.

So try looking for some other options like maybe rims as phatmax suggested?

Its the crappy suspension on the Maximas. When you accel hard it shift the weight to the rear (thgis would help a rear wheel drive car). so the front tires start to lose grip. Then since your traction starts to slip, the cars weight shift forward slamming your front wheels back down. When the front wheels start to grab again, the weight shifts rear wards. After this happeneing a couple times within a second or so, the front struts start to bounce up and down...and whoila-your problem. Stiffer suspension should help this. Need to stop weight transfer to rear for a fwd car to accel hard. Traction is one of the biggest problems racing a fwd car.
