Airbag sensing unit: Impending Doom?

In order to run wires to the trunk area of my car I removed the center console and rear seat, so i could slide the wires under the short section of carpet that joins the two.
Anyway, once you remove the center console the airbag sensing unit is uncovered. It is held in by 4 screws. The rear two screws also hold down a bracket that in turn holds down the carpet. All these screws are safety head torx (like a normal torx head but with a pin in the middle preventing one from using anything but the specified tool). Fortunately, these were socket head style and came off easily with vice grips.
There was a warning on the sensing unit not to "strike or dissassemble" but I pulled the rear ones off anyway so i could get the carpet up.
After removing them, I began to think about the warning more and began to wonder if removing the screws will cause something inside the sensing unit to think the car has been in an accident and blow up the airbag when I recoonect the battery. Is anyone familiar with these sensing units and how they operate? I was extremely gentle when removing the screws.
Please Advise.
Thank You.
Christian.

Your OK just removing the screws, just be gentle with it.
