Temp Sensor code, go away!

I posted about the install of my Frankencar intake a couple of days ago, really like it. However, I have pulled the ol' Intake Temp Sensor code from my ECU (0401) and no matter how many times I reset the ECU it will come back. Now when a couple friends and I installed the intake, we removed the whole air scoop thing. From what I have read in some searches, this contains the temp sensor? I guess I am not familiar with this temp sensor, where it is located, what it looks like or where it needs to be with my new intake. Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm sick of seeing that little yellow light.

The sensor is in the air intake scoop.
It's a plastic sensor, that clips into the stock air intake piping.
When I installed my Frankencar intake, I zip-tied the sensor right
near the driver's side strut tower...

hope this helps...

Ok I did just as you described, do I need to reset the ECU again? Will the light go away immediately or will it have to wait until the engine is warmed up?

No, it's contained in memory. You need to reset (takes 3min @ most...but you already knew that).

I had the same problem as you. when installing my clutch on friday evening, i didn't see the air temp harness dangling...got the SES light. Pullled the code, found the harness, and plugged it back in. Light still on, so I reset it.

resetting the computer will turn the light off immediately.

i pulled the same code on my maxima. I also have a frankencar intake. Is this sensor the reason my car has a rough start in the morning. if i don't give it a little gas when starting it will stall out

could be...but, I'm not 100% sure...

however, look at it this way -- if it is the sensor, odds are the
car would run poorly all of the time -- not just at start-up...

my $0.02,

no, the temp sensor doesn't affect drivability...at least that's what the FSM says. makes me wonder why it's even there?

Well I fixed the problem I'm pretty sure. When I installed the intake I removed the entire air intake scoop which had the temp sensor part that plugs in. I took that out of the scoop, plugged it into the other wire and zip tied it near my filter. Reset ECU and engine light has stayed off so far *crosses fingers*
