Engine Bay Cleaning
Engine Bay Cleaning
I've noticed that on the cylinder heads, valve cover, intake, etc (aka: cast aluminum parts) that there is quite a bit of corrosion. I've taken the plastic cover off the valve cover and took a steel wire brush to a lot of these parts and have cleaned it up a lot. I even took aluminum polish to al lot of these parts with marginal results. AL polish works really well on the aluminum AC hoses and stuff, makes em shine really nice, but I can't get the cast AL parts to shine up the same way. Has anyone made these parts shine up really nice? Should I bother or just paint it all or something? What do you guys do to improve the engine bay besides wire looms and wire wrap?
I painted my valve cover...I tried scrubbing out the crap on it with no luck so I painted it with Cast Iron Aluminum paint(which matched perfect) from autozone for $3..while I was at I decided to paint the spark plug cover also.
