Can U slide your car around turns.

I have a 95max, its an AUTO so goin when going around turns i dont have alot of gearing options.
I had a 91 Honda Accord, the car had NO sliding handeling aroung turns, i never had control in a slide and wrecked it 3 times (2 times sliding sideways into trees)
I had a 93 civic HB, that suck a$$ too. it would get the turn sometimes but for the most part it would either stick or lose its a$$.
Both_of_these cars had neuspeeds w/kybagx..

MAXIMA_ POINT:
My maxima w/stock suspension is EXcellent @ Sliding. excellent
Theres never been a turn too much to predict.
I can slam into a turn and Know how much to press on the gas when sliding to pull straight out. Ive came very close before but the car is very excellent at breaking the rear wheels loose and predicting its next move.So you all may think im insane for testing the limits but thats what i do best and thats why i still drive my maxima.peace.mdub

[disclaimer] First off pushing the car that hard on a public street is very dumb [/disclaimer]. Basically if your sliding your going too fast in a corner. I bet you were the victum of lift throttle oversteer and wiped out in the other cars. Every maxima has understeer at the limit. I suggest testing the handling at a proper place like an autoX or road race track. If you can't do that try it in an empty parking lot, just don't get caught by the .

I did this before in my 95 SE 5spd around a turn at about 20, downshifted to 2nd gear before the turn, and ended up having the back end swing out like a rear wheel drive car...i counter steered it and it swung the other side, counter steered it once more and pulled out ok..I couldnt believe that..reminded me of driving my bros Rx-7. I'll never try that again...until i get some suspension mods.

changing tire pressure will allow for interesting driving changes in your vehicle. Try auto-crossing. If you beef up the back tires your rear will come about.

i can make a 90 degree turn @ 25 mph with only FSTB, make sure ur tire psi is around 29-30... also brake enough tat u won't slid, down shift to 2 before u make a turn so use the engine + brake to help u slow down simultanesouly, when ur 1/2 done turning start accelerating fast enough not hit a tree and finisin up ur turn, shift back to D and continue u ride...

it's okie...ur record isn't tat bad, i hit a tree @ mcdonald drive thru with my sister's corella cuz i was driving with my knee while gettin out $$ for my drink... gheyness of me.

If you wait till after the apex of the turn and then floor it, you can do a pretty fun turn.

I have the RSB Too guys , which before that i actually slid almost too slick and w/ RSB on its perfect.

Im really suprised as to how many daddys we have on here that say road rage is a bad thing.I support road rage daily. i take auto off o/d add do 110 home daily, i cut people off on backroads, i pass on the double white line, and i do make people get out of there car thinking they have a flat tire. .and im proud of that sh$t too. my dad and his talks dont need to be here.

The car is running, but no one is behind the wheel eh?
I just hope you don't run into the wrong person on the wrong day. Pray you don't because you might end up in a ditch, alive maybe, dead probably.

dude, the people who advised u to test the limits at autoXs and open parking lots, were advising u for ur own safety and the safety of others around u. if u want to test the limits and don't care about ur life...well...its ur life, and i can't say anything about it. I am not trying to sound mean dude, but you are testing the limits of FWD cars on THE STREET!!!! From what you have said you sound about as smart as a box of rocks. You think you are cool with your road rage skillz, but all you are is putting other peoples and your life in danger. Lay off the steroids, be patient, test your driving skills at the track and you and EVERYONE AROUND YOU WILL BE JUST FINE. Stop thinking about yourself and think of the consequences.

I remember what happened when I took a turn and tried to exit too fast... understeer

Now I have an ugly opening in my steering wheel where the air bag used to be.

This was on a vacant street and I only hit a curb, I hope for the sake of other drivers you are testing your cars suspension on closed roads or open parking lots.

With my old car, my 90 Sentra 4-spd, on wet days I used to drive into the parking lot of my apt complex and come down a slight hill. The parking spaces were around a small peninsula and were parallel to the road, I'd come in with enough speed, push in the clutch, yank the e-brake while turning the wheel, kick the rear out and slide all the way 180 degrees and let the clutch up in 2nd gear and slide into the spot. When it was doen right it looked like something right out of the movies. It was most fun when people were outside smoking cigarettes or something.

I've kicked out the rear in my Max once or twice, but not to this extreme. I really don't wanna F it up. With a beater car, its a different story.

Oh yeah, just to clarify, I did that "slide around the turn and pull into the parking spot" move only when there was no danger to people. If I had hit a parked car or something, that would have been only my financial security, but hitting a person would be unforgivable for something that stupid.

What's a "double white line" mean when used to describe traffic striping?

People like MDubya are complete idiots. If you "practice" road rage on a daily basis, you must have a serious mental problem. Like everything else in life, what goes around comes around. One of these days, our boy MDubya is going to mess with the wrong person and find himself in a very sticky and possibly fatal situation. I'm just glad I live far, far away from that idiot.

I think he means a double-yellow line, indicating a no-passing zone. You can get away with it if your skillz are mad tyte, yo.

double white is no passing. they use the double white on most bridges and tunnels only if they are 4 or more total lanes though

Re: Can U slide your car around turns.

Okay, you already wrecked your previous cars doing these stupid stunts. Don't you think it's time to wise up? Do you like replacing your tires? Do you even know the first thing about driving and handling? Do we think you're insane for testing the limits? NO, we think you're just dumb. You want attention so you do dumb things. You crashed doing these dumb things in the past and you still do them. Everything points to you being as smart as a bag of rocks. I hope the moderators don't lock this thread because you need more people to tell you how dumb you are. One day you will run in to someone or kill yourself. Darwinism will win in the end. Dude, relax. Sliding is NOT COOL! Anyone that tells you drifting your car in the streets is cool, is NOT COOL! Only stupid people do that. Stupid inconsiderate people.

What happens when a person that needs to learn things by experience, doesn't learn things by experience? Bad things.

Here's to hoping it only takes four more single-car wrecks and five more miscellaneous tickets for MDubya to figure some **** out.

tell that to the kids you leave orphaned when you kill their mother/father driving like an idiot.

I suggest you get a street bike. that way you can go much faster, much quicker and more easily weave in and out of traffic. also, when you do f-up, the chances are better that you'll only kill yourself instead of others.

I do some crazy stuff sometimes, but I take precautions before I do it (like double-checking all surrounding directions), and mostly I don't do anything around other cars. Reardgless, losing control in a slide is risking way too much for my tastes. I'm a rebel when I pass in a no passing zone after checking twice.
