Removing Overspray

I had my damaged rear bumber replaced and repainted about 18 months ago. The body shop somehow got overspray onto the entire car (except the windows). I'd like to remove this stuff before polishing and waxing. Do you think a clay bar will remove the overspray?

is there any way you can contact that body shop and tell them to remove it for you? it was their fault right?

Clay bar will do it. So will a good compound.

I moved to another state after the repair job, so I can't make a special trip to go back and complain. The overspray causes a lot a swirl marks when I hand wax, as the surface is no longer smooth.

Yeah, Mothers makes a good clay bar that can take off overspray. Go to your local walmart, kmart and get it for around $12. My friend swears by it.

I am going to agree with Tom, but seeing that it was done 18 months ago, there's a good chance it won't come off.

Compund may be too harsh - try the clay bar first. It's hindsight in your case, but overspray is most easily removed if you get to it within the first couple weeks.
