Next Purchase: COILOVERS

Next Purchase: COILOVERS
I was counting some cash and decided to ask you guys which coilovers you would recommend and why. I am not concerned with ride quality as much as I am with performance and price. I do not autoX or drag race. My max is strictly a sport-touring car.

If you are going for sport touring, why don't you just get a good set of springs and struts? You may not be concerned with ride quality now, but you will be later. If you must get coilovers, go with Ground Control or Weapon-R sleeve kits. They are a cheaper alternative. Try to keep your spring rates in the 300 lbs. range for a good combination in ride quality and handling. I would also recommend Tokico Illuminas as your struts. If you are tight on money AGX's will do.

I have Ground Control's and have had to replace three of the "sooo easy to use, one allen screw...not like those other companies that use 2 perges" (quote from Ground Control...or something like it perges. Ride sucks @$$ but it look really nice crushed at a show...
If you want performance and any price goes, please avoid Ground Control... Just my $.02

Okay, since price is not an issue, I would go with a set of JIC or Tein's. I would favor Tein's the most for expandability. If you really want to go out, get a set of Ohlin's coilovers custom made.
Cattman currently does not sell coilovers. Progress Tech is designing and prototyping a new system for him, but it is not released yet. Email Chebosto (www.maximadriver.com) for more information about these. He's driving the prototype car.

I'm looking to spend around 600-700 for a ride drop. I would like good ride, better performance, and overall good quality. I was thinking going GC/Tokico, but now I hear that combo might suck...any suggestions for that price range? I don't really want just springs, I don't think they would provide a good enough ride. I want a good amount of drop, I plan on getting 17 rims soon, 18 later. Thanks.
