I want one of these also. For some reason, both of my keys are cracked where you put on the key on the keychain. This would be a nice replacement.

Mine are cracked too, but I rather get the stock one again. Last time I checked with Nissan it was like $50. Does anyone know of a better price?

There's one in the For Sale forum for $30 shipped, but www.eBay.com normall has them cheaper than that.

You can program it youself, cutting depends on where you go but shouldn't be more than $10 anywhere.

I checked my Haynes book and I didn't see anything on programming the key. Can you tellme how to do it, or where to get this info from. Thanks!

slightly OT but...

I'm interested in seeing the new SmartKey from the Infiniti FX45. The description sounds like it might be like a flip type key but it has a chip in it for us 99's with the immobilizer system.

I was wondering if you had found out anything more about the key. I would like to get one.

Working with manufacturer to get these here. There is even a machine they sell that will supposedly copy the remotes so that they will work. Please be patient.. I am trying to get them for cheaper than I got it for.

Eventhough it can't be programmed to be used with the stock alarm system, is there a way to program it with an aftermarket system?

Update:

These keys will be available in 1 month. The remote will be able to work if you are willing to mail me yours so I can copy it onto the flip key. (I have not yet tested the machine to copy the remote yet but I am guaranteed by the manufacturer that it will work with stock remote and most aftermarket ones as well.)

I will post up as soon as I have them in hand and have been able to program my own remote.

I do not live there. My mom was visiting and I asked her to buy it because I saw it on my last visit and did not have a chance to buy it myself.

I would probably take two as well, for the right price. MUST work with the factory alarm though, opening the dorr with the key sucks...just a recipe for scratches. Let us know...

I'm good for 2 if the remote works, but what about the immobilizer chip in 99's. Couldn't you just take it out of your key and put it in the remote case to make it work.

UPDATE!

I promised a month.. And I've kept my word.

I actually got them a week ago. I have 40 keys.. Can get more within 2 weeks if they're that popular. Will start selling by the end of the week. Price will be $42 shipped. If you want to have the remote copied, mail me your remote with payment (or prepay w/ paypal) and I will return both remotes once they are done.

*** I can not guarantee the remotes will work. The machine they provided works on hard-coded remotes, not hopping ones. (NO IDEA WHAT THIS MEANS) I copied my factory remote. It works, range is a bit weaker but works. Should work with aftermarket alarms as well. I provide the copying service free of charge. If I don't get it to work the first time and you're willing to pay shipping for it, you can keep sending it back to me to re-try ***

I will link to a new thread once I am ready to sell these.

Sucks I won't be the only person in the US with one of these keys anymore.
