Hey iz it illegal to have clear lights on the outers of the tail lights? i mean u would still have the inner red light, and i wuz thinkin , u could rewire thw lights so that when u brake only the inner lights light up and not the outers since they would be clear. to keep it legal. someone let me know

 

They could possibly pull u over b/c u have cleartail lights, only if their ****s though. It shouldn't be a real problem, depending on where u live, if u gotta lot of imports in ur neighborhood with clears the police might get picky

 

I have clear tail light (outer piece) on my car. I, too had same concern. But after putting it for couple week, haven't got pull over, (cop was following me on 1st day, no problem. you can see that on my old post). I ask popo regarding about clear tail light. They told me that clear tail is illegal. Popo said you gotta have reflection (red i assume) in case that you're brake light blow. And gotta have red brake light and amber turn signal. So I went to local auto shop and grab some red reflective stickers, and order super red for brake, and kept stock turn light bulb.
I live in WA, where popo being really **** about racing, modded, or should I say anything that not kept in stock form. uhhh. But I guess, for maxima, since it's only outer piece is clear. Popo don't mind that much to look it close. Well this doesn't mean they are legal in any states nor you are not going to get pull over. But just giving you some idea about my case. good luck.
p.s I think apc make red/clear or clear w/red? tail light. I saw it on magazine, it's gonna be around 130 shipped from apc. check out their homepage for more detail.
