Performance Chip

Hey all

anyone know if the performance chips do the job they say they do. Up to 20 HP additional. Or is it bogus. I should have asked before I bought, but i just ordered the Vortec Chip for 18.99 on ebay brand new. No one else bid on it.. hehe

Hopefully I am not wasting my $$.

Lemme Know.. thanks.

Dan

The 4th gen FAQ mentions about it. Your friend probably got a new ECU for his GTI that increased the boost for his turbo.

It's not even a chip, it's a stupid resistor that tries to fool the MAF into thinking that there is more air going to the manifold than there really is.

This richens up your fuel.

This causes you to be slower - yes, I said it - SLOWER.

A GTI Chip is a completely different thing, and cost like $300+.

The closest thing we have for a "chip" is a JWT ECU Upgrade - $600...
