Going nowhere in Drive

Lately my Maxima has been shifting wierd, Its an Automatic and sometimes when I put it in to drive it doesn't roll forward when its in Idle then I will give it gas and it will jump a little and just go. Today I was driving and all of a sudden I was giving it gas and it started to Rev like it was in Neutral. I pulled over to the side and put it into park then back to Drive and it was acting like it was in neutral It did this a few times. Finally after a little while I got it to go into Drive and go. Another day it did this same thing but in Reverse.

any suggestions?

Actually while the car is running check your tranny fluid... I bet it is low.. But I would bet that it is toast soon even if this does make it shift a little better.

There is a very good chance you will need a tranny doctor. If it will not stay in gear.........

I'm pretty sure it's not your catalytic converter. If it is then I really need to get studying on my cars again. Have a good transmission tech look at your TC (Tourque Converter)

Yeah, Torque Converters rarely ever wear out. They are built pretty solidly.

This just happened to me 5 minutes ago - I was gong to post about it, but it seems there is already a thread.

My tranny pan was busted a few weeks ago, and I'm not sure we got the tranny refilled all the way when it was fixed, so it may just be low fluid.

If it's not low fluid, then I'm glad the 5spd is on the way!
